Gplex Extended Download

Privacy

Gplex Extended doesn't collect anything about you. Nothing it sees on a page is sent to me or to anyone else.

The extension, the add-on and the userscript

Gplex Extended runs only on Google's and YouTube's own pages, and redraws them in an older look, all inside your browser.

  • What it reads: what Google's page already shows you, such as search results, your inbox list or a Drive file you open, so it can show the same things in the old layout. Signed in, it also reads the name, email address and profile picture Google shows in its own bar, to put them in Gplex's bar.
  • What it keeps: your Gplex settings (the layout and the other choices on the settings page), and that name, email address and profile picture address, so that pages which don't show them (Calendar, News) can. All of it stays in your browser's own storage for the extension, on your computer. Signing out of Google through a Gplex page clears it, and removing Gplex removes it.
  • What it sends: nothing to me or to anyone else. The only requests it makes are to Google and YouTube, the same kind their own pages make (search suggestions, a translation, a Drive file's preview), and those go straight from your browser to Google with your usual Google sign-in. There are no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no server of mine involved.
  • Sign-in pages: Gplex restyles Google's sign-in pages only. It never reads, stores or sends what you type there.
  • No code from the internet: everything Gplex runs is inside the extension itself.

This website

gplexextended.com has no cookies, no analytics and no ads. The server counts downloads from its buttons (a total for each file); to count the same visitor once an hour, it keeps a scrambled form of the visitor's address in memory only, never on disk. Like any web server it shows each request on its console while it runs, and those lines aren't stored.
